James Franco is finally becoming a man. According to Jewish tradition, anyway.
Back in July, it was announced that the actor was having a legit bar mitzvah—a rite of passage traditionally reserved for 13-year-old Jewish boys—and you’ll be able to watch the whole simhah tomorrow night.
It sounds ridiculous (as do several things typically associated with the 37-year-old), but there’s some do-gooding involved too: The shindig is actually in the form of a variety show hosted by Franco’s buddy Seth Rogen, and the proceeds from tickets sold benefit Hilarity for Charity, an Alzheimer’s awareness organization founded by Rogen and his wife, Lauren.
HFC teamed up with Funny or Die to stream the event live on free app go90. The extravaganza will feature a parade of celebs including Bill Hader, Miley Cyrus, Haim, and Judd Apatow.
No word yet if the event will feature the typical bells and whistles (Uncle Sol doing the hamotzi, the Electric Slide), but we’ll able to see the whole meshugga affair ourselves on Saturday night’s stream at 8 p.m. PST and 11 p.m. EST.
And let us all say: Mazel tov!
